I've dealt with tight back and neck muscles for years and I have all sorts of gadgets, tools and massagers to help combat it. However, this is the best massager I've used hands down! Massage guns can be awkward and tiring to hold and you can't easily get to your back yourself. I also have a back and neck massager that is a strap and you hold with your hands/arms. That's better but then you have to contort your arms to get it in the various spots along your back. However, the Snailax Shiatsu Massage Cushion does the work for you! You just set it up on a chair, sit on it and turn it on. It really does all the work for you. It will go up and down your back for you - kneading you back the entire time. There are different functions you can select like just on your upper or lower back. It even has a spot feature to have the massager focus on a specific area.
While doing that, you can have your tush and back legs massaged with the vibrational cushion. All of this plus heat. I've only had this a couple of weeks but I have already noticed huge improvements in my neck and shoulders. If you have a chronically tight neck or back and find it hard to get to all the spots, I strongly recommend this massager. I love it so much, I got one for my dad for Christmas. I bought this massager almost a year ago and I love it. It gets the job done and feels great; I have a lot of back issues and pain, and this helps to keep that pain from getting worse and worse like it usually does when I use it often. The first one did break; one of the massage balls tore through the fabric, but that’s probably because of user error. However, I contacted customer support on their website and they sent a replacement out to me right away. It was seamless and I’m thankful for their timing as I didn’t want to go too long without massaging my back. I think I got the replacement within 3 business days.
The first one lasted me almost a year, and if it hadn’t of been for the ball tearing through the fabric part (there is a padded covering that ensured my safety so I wasn’t harmed!) I’m sure it would have lasted for a good while longer too; it’s really good quality for this price point. The noise level is amazing; practically no noise unless you’re using the vibration setting, and even then it’s minimal. Highly recommend to anyone who needs a decent massager and doesn’t want to break the bank. You can control where there massage balls go (higher or lower), and you can keep them in a certain spot as well. There is also a really nice heat option that just adds a bit more relaxation; using that during the cold months was great and kept me toasty. Shiatsu back massager with 6 stationary rotating massage heads that eventually feel like they are boring holes into my back. This massager is very different, having 2 rotating massage heads that travel up and down the back. It has a wired handheld controller for all functions of the device. You can select an Upper, Lower, or Full back massage. There is a Spot massage mode that lets you guide the massage heads to a specific area of your back using the Up and Down buttons on the controller. In the Spot mode, the massage heads still move up and down a few inches, avoiding the "boring" effect that I mentioned earlier. You can turn the back Heat on or off, set the Timer for 5, 10, or 15 minutes, and set the seat cushion Vibration intensity to Low, Medium, High, or Off. The seat cushion does not have heat or massage heads. The Snailax SL-256 has an attached holster for controller storage, a detachable neck cushion, a detachable padded flap for lowering the massage intensity, elastic straps for securing to a chair, and a wall power adapter. The massager seat and back fold together for storage. Snailax provides a 1 year warranty which can be extended to 3 years by registering the product online within 60 days of purchase. I have not owned this item long enough to judge its durability, but I own other Snailax massage products that have held up well over time. The SL-256 provides a very enjoyable massage to relieve tense or sore muscles. I recommend it to anyone shopping for a full size Shiatsu style back massager.
